We are Geelong, the greatest region of all?

Team Grenfell has a strangle hold on this year’s Sportsbet Geelong Cup with four of the eight contenders – headlined by Vincent Bale.

Despite numbers sitting with Team Grenfell, Matt Loch for Michelle Mallia was best on ground in the heats following a victory that saw him a length off the track record.

The Geelong and surrounding region are a strong one, and it was proven tonight, with all eight 2025 Geelong Cup contender’s locals to the track.

Team Grenfell’s runners include Vincent Bale, Paw Whitley, Paw Vortex, and Intrepid Bale.

Jeff Britton qualified two greyhounds in Giacomo and Mepunga Smokey, whilst Colac Kid gave Team Sharp a runner in the Cup.

Giacomo (1) wins the opening heat of the Sportsbet Geelong Cup in a time of 29.87 seconds (520 metres) over Schillaci (3).

Matt Lock (2) wins heat two of the Geelong Cup over Intrepid Bale (6) in a time of 29.591 seconds.

Paw Vortex (7) holds off King Owen (1) in the third Geelong Cup heat in a time of 29.859 seconds.
